Murumuru

Murumuru (Astrocaryum murumuru) is renowned for its majestic stature. Researchers have already elected it as one of the most elegant palms in Brazil. It grows in flooded, tidal floodplain soils throughout the Amazon estuary and its tributaries.

The fruit grows in a bunch. When ripe, the whole bunch falls to the ground and is sought after by rodents and pigs as food. Cattle usually swallow the fruit whole, suck the pulp, and then reject the cleaned stone.

Properties

Murumuru butter, extracted from the seed, has a nourishing composition that makes it ideal for skin and hair. It contains lauric, oleic, and palmitic acids. Murumuru-based skin products penetrate deep into the innermost layers of the epidermis, regenerating the tissue with their antioxidant and intensely moisturizing properties.

Versatility

Murumuru butter improves hair flexibility, hydration, and strength. This humectant ingredient has been gaining popularity in the beauty world in hair products, masks, moisturizing and hand creams, and shampoos.
