Copaiba

Copaiba (Copaifera officinalis), known as the “antibiotic of the forest,” is one of the most widely used medicinal plants in the Amazon. Ever since indigenous people discovered the healing power of copaiba oil, the product has been regarded as an elixir of life.

Many people of the Amazon say that, when far from a hospital or pharmacy, copaiba oil heals. Copaiba trees, with an average height of about 36 meters, are found in all the tropics, but with greater incidence in Brazil, where 16 species have a wide distribution.

Properties

Capaiba has powerful antioxidant, diuretic, and anticancer actions. It also works as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and general healing agent.

Versatility

Capaiba oil is widely used as an aroma fixative in perfumes. In creams, it promotes the reduction of scars, stretch marks, and cellulite. In shampoos, it helps to combat dandruff, seborrhea, and greasiness of the scalp.
