On November 17, opening the second week of COP30, we took part in Biofuturos, an event that brought together public leaders, companies, investors, specialists and entrepreneurs committed to advancing the bioeconomy from within the Amazon. The meeting took place at the Bioeconomy Park in Belém and highlighted how science, innovation, technology and traditional knowledge are shaping new opportunities for the region.
The event featured representatives from the Government of Pará – including the Secretary of Environment and the Secretary of Bioeconomy – as well as leaders from the private sector, such as executives from Algar, Natura, Fundo Vale, and national bioeconomy businesses already gaining scale, like Dengo.
Our co-founder and CEO, Fernanda Stefani, participated in the panel “Innovation in the Bioeconomy”, which also included representatives from SEBRAE Pará, KPTL, and ASSOBIO – the Association of Sociobioeconomy Businesses of the Amazon. The discussion brought diverse perspectives on how to strengthen and expand sociobiodiversity value chains by integrating science, technology, investment and the participation of local communities.
Key topics discussed included:
- nnovation applied to sociobiodiversity value chains
- Scaling and strengthening socio-environmental impact businesses
- Financing and investment to expand the Amazon bioeconomy
- Governance, traceability and the valorization of traditional communities
- Building national and international markets for forest-based products
The presence of 100% Amazonia reinforces our commitment to industrializing at the source, adding value to Amazonian bioingredients and building global markets that recognize the potential of the forest, always with responsibility, transparency and positive impact.
We remain dedicated to ensuring that the bioeconomy becomes a concrete pathway for sustainable development, income generation and the conservation of a standing Amazon.
